At Settoon Towing, we recognize and appreciate the critical importance of responsible behavior in every facet of our operations, particularly in the areas of health, safety and environmental awareness. To this end, we have developed and put in place policies and procedures dedicated to the health and safety of our employees, the safeguarding of our customers' cargoes and protection of the environment.
In our business, safety awareness and safe practices are imperative and essential to our success. With this in mind, our programs are designed and our employees trained to understand the importance of preventative measures needed to minimize, if not eliminate, any possibility of accidents. Our safety record is exemplary, and we proudly regard our employees, from the crewmen to the staff who support them, as among the most safety-minded in the industry.
In 2002, Settoon Towing became a member of American Waterways Operators ("AWO") and quickly took the steps needed to implement its Responsible Carrier Program. This program requires the implementation of formal policies and procedures to insure our operations meet and exceed safety and environmental guidelines set by government agencies. It also requires periodic third party audits of our operations to verify compliance. We were quickly recognized as being in full compliance with the AWO Responsible Carrier Program and remain so.
